Hi,
I just can't get rid of this prompt when I open a spreadsheet. Once opened there is another prompt that asks "This file contains links to other files. Should they be updated?"
I've tried setting every cell in the entire spreadsheet to Default Formatting, and I've set Tool->Options->OpenOfficeCalc->General->Updating to "Never"
Just doesn't work.
Thanks,
p

Re: Cannot get rid of "Update all links?" prompt
It means that there is a formula that refers to an external file. It may be a hidden tab.
There is also this bug: [Issue] Linked spreadsheets but I think that the primary issue here is to find the formula and delete it.

Please search first before posting. Search found 410 matches: update links
The Update Links prompt is not caused by formatting. Changing formatting will not affect the problem.peanutaxis wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 11:01 am I've tried setting every cell in the entire spreadsheet to Default Formatting,
Hagar's link says OpenOffice has an open issue with that setting. Have you tried installing LibreOffice? Perhaps the issue has been resolved in that product. You do not need to remove OpenOffice if you want to try LibreOffice.peanutaxis wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 11:01 am I've set Tool->Options->OpenOfficeCalc->General->Updating to "Never"
[Tutorial] Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information
View the links using Edit → Links. That feature will also let you remove unwanted links. But if you need the links, then it's the issue which is causing the message to appear. If you require any additional assistance attach a spreadsheet demonstrating the difficulty (remove confidential information then use Post Reply, not Quick Reply, and don't attach a picture instead of the spreadsheet itself). I will not help further unless you attach a spreadsheet file. But I'm not a developer and can't fix the OpenOffice issue if you need the links.
If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit ☐ button and add [Solved] to the start of the Subject field. Select the green checkmark icon at the same time.

Re: [Solved] Cannot get rid of "Update all links?" prompt
Had the same problem (OO v 4.1.15) and tried everything including posting here but no solution. Tried downgrading to v 4.1.14 but that didn't help. Saw that this problem has been reported by various people as far back as 4.1.4. In despiration I uninstalled v 4.1.15 and installed 4.1.3 to replace it. PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED for me by doing that. Not elegant but effective.
