Calc on Android question - general usability

I have installed Calc on my Android tablet. Its a Samsung Galaxy 7" tablet with Android 4.2.2.
I am finding a "broad, general usability" problem, and want to know if others see it, or if there is something i could do.
When i open Calc on the Android tablet, it does open. The grid itself is usable, with my finger i can select a cell, I can scroll, I can enter data, etc.
What i cannot do is select any menu ("File", "Edit", etc), or any of the toolbar buttons, or buttons in a dialog ("OK", "Cancel", etc). All of those "barely work". That is, if i try usually about 10 to 15 times, i might eventually get a menu to drop down or a toolbar button to work. I thought it might be something about them being small, maybe i am not hitting it right, or something. But, it is more than that. When i do finally get something on the menus to work, lets say it brings up a dialog. Then, in the dialog, i can usually select stuff, such as a dropdown if there is one, or type in a text box. But, when i go to hit the button to dismiss the dialog ("OK", "Cancel", etc), those buttons are very big, and they behave the same as described. They simply do not work, though if i repeat many, many times, eventually i can usually get them to work.
Based on my experience so far, I would have to choose to declare this "not usable" (as opposed to "usable"). So, i am just wondering, is there something odd about what I am experiencing in my case on this tablet? Are others using OO Calc on Android tablets, and finding it usable? Can anybody suggest anything that i might do to correct this or to investigate it further?
Thanks,
Tom
