I thought it might be helpful to have an example that shows how to add all the usual document structure.
Here's a sample document and set of instructions for making the changes.
Download the zip and unpack it anywhere you like; follow the instructions in the slides (pdf).
Of course, I'd appreciate any feedback (is it helpful?) and suggestions for improvement.

From the instructions text:
➔Click anywhere in the ToC page
– Right-click > Page >
Note underline above. If you happen to click within the actual TOC, then right click, you do not get the expected reference to Page. You must click either above or below the actual TOC for the reference to Page to appear upon a right click.
Excellent example in the works!

Wow--I never noticed that. Good catch!
Fixed in my copy; I'll wait a while before I update the files here.
Thanks for taking a look.

Updated tutorial files ...
The tutorial shows how to add structure to your Writer documents, including:
- Section or chapter headings
- Page headers/footers
- Distinct page layouts in each part of the document
Again, let me know if you find this helpful, or if you have suggestions or problems (start a new thread in the Writer section of the forum).
