Laptop/mobile phone synch

Hi all, I did ask this question last year but the response was somewhat vague,so now a little more time has passed I will ask again asthings move so fast in the OT market.
At the moment I use an elderly mobile phone (TYTNII) which has worked perfectly for about 5 plus years now. The phone has MS office mobile installed and I use the Excel and Word applications every day, when I arrive home and my laptop (WIN7) is switched on the phone syncs via Bluetooth with the Office 2003 I have installed and this would include Outlook, this means my calender/tasks/contacts along with any alterations I have made to my Excel or Word documents ect all are updated.
Now as the whole affair is getting a bit long in the tooth although still working, I intend to purchase a new phone (probably latest Samsung Galaxy) and a new office 2010 suite however, costs are very high, sooooo can Open Office mimic what I have without adding a shed load of other third party software?
Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer,
Dave
