[Solved] What is the "Writer Guide"?

I spend a great deal of time just trying to figure out how to make a post! This website is so confusing! Maybe I should just pay for Word again!
All I'm trying to find out is what is this "Writer Guide" that the manual talks about?

We have a link to the Writer guide at the top of the Writer section of the forum. See below; you can't click the picture but you can click the link in the next sentence. This link is a
series of web pages which present the material. You can also get a
PDF of the complete Writer guide. This documentation is for version 3. Documentation for version 4 is not yet complete, but there are few differences between version 3 and version 4 and the version 3 documentation is what everyone uses.

Probably the best introduction to Writer is Apache OpenOffice Writer for students.
