[Solved] What is the "Writer Guide"?

Post by MamaMac01 »

I spend a great deal of time just trying to figure out how to make a post! This website is so confusing! Maybe I should just pay for Word again!

All I'm trying to find out is what is this "Writer Guide" that the manual talks about?

I hate this damn computer, I wish that I could sell it.
It won't do what I want it to, Only what I tell it.

We have a link to the Writer guide at the top of the Writer section of the forum. See below; you can't click the picture but you can click the link in the next sentence. This link is a series of web pages which present the material. You can also get a PDF of the complete Writer guide. This documentation is for version 3. Documentation for version 4 is not yet complete, but there are few differences between version 3 and version 4 and the version 3 documentation is what everyone uses.

Probably the best introduction to Writer is Apache OpenOffice Writer for students.

If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit button and add [Solved] to the start of the Subject field. Select the green checkmark icon at the same time.

Zizi64's advice to switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice is good advice. There are several good reasons to do so, some of which are mentioned here: [Tutorial] Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information
LibreOffice 25.8.4.2 (x64) installed to Windows 11 Pro. 25H2
Apache OpenOffice Portable 4.1.16 [Portable Apps]
For Java I use Adoptium Temurin JRE LTS Releases.
