How to DELETE Recent Documents?

There is now 'recent documents' and 'recent documents of the same type'. Can I 'clear list' in the 'recent documents' list? Will they still be accessible and able to open in the 'recent docs of the same type'? ie. I hope I don't lose what is on each file that I wish to keep.

Can I 'clear list' in the 'recent documents' list
Yes, the behaviour is unchanged and it will clear the entire list which is most likely not what you want. They will not be listed in the 'same type' list after removal.

Again, removing files from the recent list doesn't remove the actual file.

You want to manipulate individual entries in the file list anf or that you need to use History Master; as previously mentioned go to Tools | Add-Ons | History Master. Note: Picklist = Recent Documents.

Summing up...this is all of no use to me.
Thanks for your patience and efforts.

It seems to me that your question was how to remove entries from the recent list where the actual file had been deleted. The button Remove inaccessible items does exactly that. So I'm not sure exactly what you want, but I'm certainly not going to waste any more of my time trying to work out what it is.

I'm too scared to ask where this $#%&*@ button is so I have emailed the inventor of HISTORY MASTER to ask how to delete HISTORY MASTER because it is now giving me 2 copies of each file in RECENT DOCS when I copy and paste to create a new file list!
You're exasperated? How do you think I feel?!

Then use LibreOffice.
No such hassle to remove redent documents from the list.

I'm inclined to think this one is a troll, given I've showed an image of the History Master dialog which clearly shows the button.

Very cruel to say that.
I've explained that I'm not a tech head (pensioner age).
Yes, you explained things but when they've been moved on from...it becomes 'all Greek to me'.
To show you how out of touch with modern tech I am...I don't have a mobile phone and am a one finger typist.
I appreciate your help until this comment...it has been a struggle for me trying to protect my life's work in file form.
Cut the superior than thou attitude...I'm sure you have your failings too.
I've also explained that Libre Office gets interfered with by Microsoft

Disable an extension - go to Tools (top arrow), select Extension Manager and the dialog (second arrow down) appears. Select the extension to manage and select the action (third arrow down).

I accept that you may not be a "tech wizard" but I can't understand why - even at pensioner age- that simple instructions cannot be followed. I might add that on my next birthday I become an octogenarian.

And that's me done here.

Maybe think back to when the tech world was 'all Greek' to you...that's who/what you were dealing with in me.
Remembering our beginnings creates empathy.
Thanks for the good times.
Race you to the grave.
PS...I did what you said but my page does not come up like yours:
I have ENGLISH SPELLING and under that HISTORY MGR...BUT NO DISABLE or REMOVE.
Mine goes to HELP ADD CHECK for updates and CLOSE.
Luckily, your pupil right clicked on HIST. MGR and the REMOVE option came up.
However, when I click FILE, RECENT DOCS OF THE SAME TYPE (RDOTST) is still there under RECENT DOCS!
When I click on RDOTST it says: 'A scripting framework error occured' etc
Message: Following basic script could not be found
Library: HistMastr
Module: Module 5
Method: Dispaly Recent By Type
Location: application
Then it has a box wi!th 'OK' in it.
Aaaaaaaargggggh! I'm stuck with RDOTST even if it's only in words only
These sorts of differences (bad review for LIBRE etc) contributed to our communication probs.
Thanks again.

Sigh. You missed a step in the instructions - Select the extension to manage. Then you would see the buttons as per the image.

Restart OpenOffice after removing the extension.

Yay
When I opened OO...it had disappeared.
I must've done something right but it needed to close to activate.
What a day!
You may now have your life back.
Thanks for entering mine.

But you still don't explain what you mean by that.

I can't remember exactly but it was a review when I clicked on Libre Office here that said Microsoft tries to 'force' you off or somewhere. I also searched 'Libra Office reviews'. Hence I'm sticking with the devil I know.

Nonsense.
But it's up to you.

Windows updates frequently reset File Associations, which means that the ODF file types registered to Open-and Libre-Office are then assigned to MS Office, which then opens them, and changes their icons to MS icons. It is a simple but annoying procedure to reset the File Applications back to Open- or Libre-Office as the default applications for their file types; however, this may be necessary to do again and again after future Windows updates.

Yeah...that's the negative thing above (by RoryOF). I've had Windows updates ruin my Brother printer compatibility (twice) and it cost me moolah to fix it! So...yep...it's up to me.

As does OpenOffice - a few related topics here; one could probably find more.
