[Solved] Page view is now distorted and tiny on all docs

I am having difficulty, my page view has ruler marks all over it and the print is tiny/ How do I get back to normal view.

Try /View /Zoom and select 100% or pull slider in bottom right of OO window to right, or enter 100% into the % box at bottom right of OO Windows. Adjust scaling to a value with which you feel comfortable, but 100% is a good start.

Come back with more information if all is not as you wish.

what do you mean by 00? every document is showing like this now so it must be a page view I think im trying to up load a screeen shot but it keeps saying its too big a file and i cant condense it.

OO is shorthand for OpenOffice.

Looking at your screenshot I suggest you select all the text (Ctrl A) and then press Ctrl U to turn off underlining. You may need also to go to the Font Effects tab in Preformatted Text paragraph style to select "Without" under the "Underlining" selection.

I note your screen magnification is at 20%; you may need to follow my earlier advice and move to 100%, or some other selection that best suits you.

nope none of that helped - I seem to have pressed a wrong key somewhere that has made all my docs appear like this but this particular one seems to be an odt file whatever that is. the lines were not on the doc when I typed it. ive tried deleting the doc and they are all coming up the same even new docs.

is it possible to retore a document to an earlier time ie yesterday, / this morning?

Your paragraph styles are all set to use bottom borders, of a fine double line. You need to change these.

Ctrl+A to select all
Ctrl+M to remove formatting.
You should try to reset your OpenOffice user profile. It will clear your template.

In addition to what Hagar suggests, you should select /Format /Styles and formatting.

In the window that opens, click on first icon from left, right click on Default and choose Modify. Select the Borders tab, click on the leftmost icon under "Line Arrangement" (top left) Scroll up the style box under the "Line" heading (centre) and select "none". Uncheck "Merge with next paragraph" under "Properties" (bottom left). Click OK.

Repeat in the same Styles and Formatting window for paragraph styles Preformatted text" and "Text body"

Look in the lower right corner of the window in the screen shot you uploaded. It shows "20%" zoom setting and the slider next to the setting is all the way to the left. Move the slider to the right to increase the zoom.
