I can't reproduce that on my Ubuntu box with OOo 2.3.1. Can she upgrade? 2.0 is deprecated now.
It's not corrupted. It's still a PDF, just not with the .PDF file extension.
Also if you create a .ODT with the same filename, it exports to PDF as expect (with the .PDF extension) so it only happens with .DOC
I was able to reproduce it and I have a fresh install of OOo 2.3.1, windows XP SP2, and word 2003 installed.
My coworker was able to reproduce it, he has OOo 2.0, windows XP SP2, and word 2003 installed.
My girlfriend was able to reproduce it, she has OOo 2.3, Windows XP SP2, and word XP installed.
Steps to reproduce on a Windows XP Box (need to uncheck "hide known file extensions" in folder options -> view tab)
- Goto Desktop, right click -> New -> Text Document
Right Click -> Rename -> type "legal.op.video.rec.3rd.def.doc"
Enter, click Yes to change its file type
Open legal.op.video.rec.3rd.def.doc in OOo
Export to PDF
Navigate to folder where PDF is saved, and see what the file type it is
Open the file in Reader to verify that it is a non-corrupted PDF document.
