[Solved] Opening Open Office on a Mac

I am new to Open Office. I have been using it on my Mac (with Lepoard), but now for some reason it will not open. I have tried reloading the program and that did not help. I start it and X-11 loads fine. Then the Open Office icon just jumps on my dock. I click on it and it says "command timed out". Usually when I say ok to command timed out it brings up the Open Office screen and loads, but now it does nothing. The icon is highlighed on the dock like it is open and then I can't quit. I have to go to a force quit to shut down the Open Office icon. Do you have any ideas?

Instead of waiting for an answer you may put "command timed out" into the search box in the top-right corner of the page you are reading right now and hit the enter key.

Switch to OO.o 3.0. Release candidate 2 is available now. Final version out in next couple of weeks.

I loaded OO.o 3.0. Release candidate 2 and it is working fine now. Also this link below was helpful. I had just updeted my Leopard and that must have been the problem. Thanks for your help. This is the only word processor I have on my Mac and I really needed it for school.
