Formula is greyed out and inactive help!!!

I need to write equations in my document, but when I go to formulas, it is greyd out, what can i do???? i hav exp and oo2.4

Are you saying that the menu Insert > Object > Formula is disabled?

Have you installed the Math component? Perhaps you made a custom installation and did not choose to install Math?

If that is not the case, then I think you may want to try re-installing the whole OOo package.
