I have an account issue. I would like to reactivate my account at the email joffutt AT dkdesign DOT net. Then delete this account @gmail.

There is no account registered on Forum originating from that email address.

Edit: Some years ago there was another forum that dealt with OpenOffice problems. However, this has long vanished. Perhaps your remembered account was on that forum.

I grant you that possibility, however, when I tried to register it said there was an account with that name already. It was inactive. Contact a board member. So this is the work email address account I want to use rather than than my personal gmail. I tired to send a registration confirmation email but it won't create an account with that email, as it is already in use.

As a moderator, I have access to private forum search engines which allow me to search (inter alia) for emails from which an account was registered. I tried with the email you gave above, and with searches using parts of it, with no results. If you PM me with User names and any email addresses you might have used, I will check. I am at the end of my day and going offline, so can do nothing until tomorrow.

Whereas my day is just starting so if you are in a hurry, I can also assist.

Note that, if you wish to change the email from which your account is accessed, you - the User - can do this by using the User Control Panel link at top left of Forum window, then Profile tab, and select User Account settings. Enter the new email address in "Email address" field, and confirm it.

Note that you will have to re-activate your account when you change your email.

I note that an account using the above email was registered about 16 hours ago and is awaiting activation. An email with the activation instructions would have been sent to the email used to register.

As the account hasn't been activated, it doesn't show up via the usual Moderator search functions.

Yes. I tried to initiate registration with the @dkdesign email address. I could get the confirmation email to come through. Checked SPAM as well. That really is the beginning of the issue. How should I proceed? If I change the email on this profile, it will detect another account is using that address. If I can get a conformation email on the @dkdesign account then I will abandon this account.

I'll assume from the rest of your message that you actually mean "couldn't get". You may find that either your filters on your email client have placed the message somewhere you don't expect, or perhaps your email provider has somehow marked the message for some sort of filtering.

Part of the reason for the activation process is to confirm that the registration email exists and is reachable.
