While editing a field, after hitting enter, that field then has a red border, and a little red square in the upper left side of that field.
I have gone to that field, went to borders, and tried to remove border, no can due.
Tried changing the border from red to no border that to did not work.

Any suggests

I am guessing that you are using the spreadsheet application Calc. If so, go to the menu Edit -> Changes and remove the selection from Record.
