Fuzzy print

In printing a document, the type is fuzzy and heavy. However, when a picture is inserted in a page, that page prints the type very clearly and cleanly. This happens in both writer and Calc. It may be a Windows XP problem, since this occurs also when printing a test page for a printer. I have tried different drivers and fonts, with no effect. However, printing emails comes out clear and crisp. I'm at a loss.

Sounds like your printer is switching between pure text mode (which is fuzzy for some reason) and graphics mode.

Is it a color printer?
