[Solved] Chart Wizard has empty Data Ranges

I had a chart on Sheet 1 in OO 4.1.4 and tried to create a new chart in Sheet 2. I selected columns A, B, C, D and started the chart wizard. An empty default graph appeared with strange numbers on the axis. The Data Ranges section was blank.

When I tried to enter each data series, it would use all of the data as the name, the data section was empty, and it used the last row for data labels.
I tried starting with no selection, with a small 2x5 selection and with 2 columns selected. It would not use my selection and would mangle any data series I tried to enter.

I restarted OO and tried again, no change. I updated to OO 4.1.5 and still no change.

Edit:  I recently installed BitDefender 2018: I need to figure out how to whitelist OpenOffice ...

I found the problem:
Imported data had *SPACE AND TAB DELIMITERS* so numbers were imported as text.

The "Check for updates" fails, but that's probably BitDefender.
