[Solved] Right and left pagination

Hello everyone,
I am using OOo Writer 2.3.0 on Win98SE. In my document I would like to use a different header and footer for left and right pages. I would like pages 1 and 2 to have no page numbers. Starting with page 3, I would like right pages (odd numbered) to have one style of page number, and left pages (even numbered) to have another style.
This is a landscape document, so actually the "right" pages are on the bottom, and the "left" pages are on the top. I would like the odd/right/bottom pages to have the page numbers in the footer, and the even/left/top pages to have the page numbers in the header.
In Word, this is done with sections, but in Writer, it appears that this is done with page styles. I hope this is correct.
I went to the top of page 3 and created a page style, following the help topic "Creating a Page Style Based on the Current Page": I used Format / Styles / New style from selection / New style from selection; then I typed in "Body odd page" as a new style name; then I double clicked on this new style name to apply it to the current page. Then I went into Format / Page / Page, and under Page Layout, selected "Only right".
I thought that this would then apply the "Body odd page" style only to the right side pages, but instead, it forced every subsequent page to be an odd page. What was page 4 is now page 5; what was page 5 is now page 7; and there are no even pages. Establishing a new even page style starting on what was page 4 does not fix the problem, since all subsequent pages are then even.
Is there any way to get Writer to use left and right page styles simultaneously? Or is there perhaps another approach I should take?
TIA for your help.
Kevin
