Not able to execute any Open Office files
I'm workiing with Vista Basic and have gone through installation 5 times but once installed I get no desktop icons or looking in the folders no .exe files. I tried using the .jar extension but get a "wrong OS" error message. Help!

Hi and welcome to the forum!
OpenOffice does not place start icons on your desktop.
I admit this behavior is a bit unusual. It will be changed in version 3.0, see issues #75762 and #86640.
