Edit whole column of cells

Post by St3ph3n31 »

Hi, I'm not sure I'm in the right place for answers as I'm relatively new to open office.

I've been forwarded a spread sheet , in column D it that's cells of data saying '£4 (for example) I need to remove the apostrophe in 1000+ cells , is there away I can remove the apostrophe in everyone with out going down every cell and manually removing it ?

Many thanks in advance for your time and advice.

Select the column of cells containing the data you want to change. Go to Data | Text to Columns; ignore the Separator options, check under Fields that Standard shows at the top of the displayed column (if not, click on the sample column and select Standard from the options list) and click OK

That should convert all the cells to Currency format.
