Setting a scale for a deed

I am trying to use Open Office Draw to draw old deed boundaries. I need to set the scale for these drawings to 1" = 2,000 feet. Can someone tell me if this is possible and how to do so?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Menu item OpenOffice - Preferences (shortcut cmd+comma)
Left pane: expand branch OpenOffice Draw and select General
The Scale field: type in 1:24000

Be aware also that the maximum page size in Draw is 300 x 300 cm (just under 120 x 120 inches)

If you are going to do this a lot, other tools may be better. (You get measurement "as the crow flies", but automatic calculations of e.g. land area and road/border length cannot be easily achieved with Draw).
- The CAD package "Fusion 360" is free for personal use (hobbyists and small businesses).
There is a learning curve...
- A map for the piece of land you are documenting/assessing may be available from CADmapper,
ready to import into any CAD application.
