Villeroy means press the cancel button; this may resolve your problem.

I hate this damn computer, I wish that I could sell it.
It won't do what I want it to, Only what I tell it.

It means there was a problem when you were editing an earlier document. AOO is offering to try to get back the document with the problem. Choose recover to try to get it back. Choose cancel and do not try to get it back.
If all else fails find the hidden lock file and delete it - it is the presence of the lock file which causes AOO to attempt the recovery.

Re: Always get "OpenOffice Document Recovery" on opening a file
This message usually arises from an improper closure of OpenOffice, such as caused by a program or computer crash, or sometimes by over-hasty shut down of the computer.
It is good to close a program, then OpenOffice and wait a few seconds while the internal write buffers of the Operating System (usually Windows) and those of the hard disk are written to the drive. this is merely a matter of a few seconds. Don't hit the command(s) then snap a laptop lid shut or cut the power immediately.
The few seconds you save will later be lost in trying to recover the file or cancel the Recovery prompt.
