Save as HTML converts image paths

In an HTML document (View > HTML Source) I can manually edit an image path, but when I save the file it re-writes the path. Is there a way to disable this disabling feature?

What is the original path and the altered path? Can you post them here?

sure.
The path I write is "images/image.jpg"
The path OO re-rewrites is the full root path on my computer, a path about 8 folders deep, pointing to my computer.
