Hi,
I'm a new user of openoffice, however, spellcheck doesn't seem to be responding correctly.
I've put it on automatic spellcheck and also tried via the tools option.
Even if I type something clearly mispelled as "ajofjaojfojdsojfp" it doesn't pick up on it.
Any ideas why?

Re: Spellcheck
Hi,
Thanks for the reply but it doesn't appear to have any pertinent information.
Spellcheck just isn't responding in any way even though the languages are set correctly.

Re: Spellcheck
Well drat...
I'm not a Mac user, anymore, was hoping it would be something simple...sorry.
You might want to post which version of OpenOffice.org and on which version of the OS...
Also, I am going to go ahead and move this to the proper forum...better chance to get a response that will held you..OK

Re: Spellcheck
VERSION: 2.3
MAC: OSX 9
Just not sure. I have gone into- TOOLS, OPTIONS, LANGUAGES- and set as English (Eire).
Just doesn't seem to pick up on any words.
Any help would be great as a word processing programme is pretty lost without this handy tool.

Re: Spellcheck
Do you see a V checkmark with ABC above in front of the language (in the drop-down list) ?obrienc6 wrote:I have gone into- TOOLS, OPTIONS, LANGUAGES- and set as English (Eire).
LibreOffice 25.2 on Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE 7 Gigi) and 25.2 portable on Windows 11.
Re: Spellcheck
Do you have the English (Eire) language dictionaries installed? Try setting it to English (US) or (UK), and see what happens.
Re: Spellcheck
Hmm, you have installed the Eire dictionaries I presume ? If you haven't then it won't work, even if you have checked them in the list of available options in Language Settings.obrienc6 wrote:VERSION: 2.3
