[Solved] JRE required to modify a picture

I inserted a picture and then double clicked on it to go to the picture menu to allow me to modify it. I was checking out the different tabs and selected the MACRO tab. Now OpenOffice won't let me get out this selection. It pops up a message that it requires the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to be loaded on my computer. I selected and it comes back. I select the X on the top right corner of the message and it comes back. I installed an updated version of JAVA that is the most current for Windows 8.1. It does say that it only runs on the desktop version of Windows 8.1. I restarted my computer and same error. I tried to add it to OpenOffice - TOOLS - OPTIONS - OPENOFFICE - JAVA and ADD and it can't find it, trying the different folders for JAVA in the Program Files (X86) folder. I searched on my Windows 8.1 computer for the file name/location and could not find it. I searched on the internet and could not find it. I went to TOOLS - CUSTOMIZE and deleted FORMAT restarted OpenOffice and added it back. I deleted PICTURE under FORMAT, restarted OpenOffice and added it back. I selected FORMAT and clicked on the RESET button to reset it to the factory defaults and restarted OpenOffice. I selected FORMAT and PICTURE and clicked on the RESET button and restarted OpenOffice. All failed. I need your help.

You got the 64 bits version of Java, I suppose. For now AOO only sees 32 bits Java, so you have to get that separately.
Your version of AOO is old, maybe you should upgrade to 4.1.1. And maybe it's your user profile acting up. Reset your user profile. Click here for help how to do that.

I updated it to Open Office 4.1.1 and it fixed the problem. Thanks.

The problem is persisting – even with OO 4.1.15 ... solution that helped here: install both (32bit and 64bit offline) of JRE from java.com => click on "Java Download for Desktops" => at the bottom of the page click on "All Java Downloads for Desktop Users" (or how this is translated into your language) => download both offline installers (32 & 64 bit) and install both
