Hello,

I have an ASUS laptop. Almost every time that I use the touchpad to scroll, the OpenOffice Writer crashs. I changed the setting of Openoffice and of the touchpad but it is the same. Can you advise on this topic?

Thank you,

I don't think that we can help on this one. I've used OOo on a few laptops and never had any probs with this. When I did a google search on this, the only hit I got was this post. Sorry. :-(

I've used OpenOffice on several different laptops (including this one) and I use a peripheral touchpad device instead of a mouse at my workstation, and have never had problems with any of them.

Please read the Survival Guide (see the link in my sig line). There's not much I can suggest without knowing what version of OOo you're using or your OS version. I could suggest re-downloading OOo (make sure it's from the official http://www.OpenOffice.org website!) and install it again (but if you have the QuickStarter running, disable it!). If that doesn't fix the problem, you'd want to try renaming your user folder in case some configuration in it is causing the problem. OOo will generate a clean new one the next time you start it up.

Those are all pretty standard actions to take when you're experiencing odd behaviors like this in OOo. Please try those suggestions and post the results. (If you need step-by-step help with any of it, please ask, but do remember to provide your OS and OOo versions.)
