hi all,

i've read on the forums that this problem seems pretty hopeless but i may have lost a few days of work so have to try everything. my odt writer file is all hastags.

any thoughts, i've read most of the forums but haven't had much luck. i've seen several ads for software recovery programs but don't know if any of them are useful.

any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

No, but since many decades there are excellent backup solutions.

There is no data there to recover, it's all zeroes.

Manually saving as often as needed, to a new file under a a different name, is the best way to protect your work.

Have you checked the temporary folder for the AOO temporary files (this is the comment I post in such cases, you may have found it in your search).

If you are lucky, you might be able to un-delete some of the temporary files which Writer wrote while you were editing the file, and then deleted when you closed Writer. Act quickly - they risk being overwritten the longer you leave it.
