I open an new tabbehind the exsiting ones, and then I try to get a value from a previous tab by typing "=" and thengloing to the cell i want to copy the value.

Then I get an error as above and the appliction shuts down.

Who can help me?

Is this an older spreadsheet? You might have the problem described by CMorrison here: Fatal error Vector<T> too long. If that is the case, it is a bug, and the only known workaround is to start a new spreadsheet and copy your data into the new spreadsheet - the old one is a lost cause.

Well, I have some 75tabs . Is thereaway to copy them all in one move, or should I copy them one by one....

Select the first tab, then hold down SHIFT and click on the last tab. This will select all the tabs (they do change color a little bit, but it is hard to see). Then click on Edit->Sheet->Move/Copy and you will have the option to copy all of the sheets to a new workbook.

That seems to havedone the trick.

Well, only for a short while....

Now again, I get this and other messages and the application crashes.

Copying to a new spreadsheet is realy cumbersome as it is a large spreadsheet with multiple tabs.

Any clue?

Also, it is possible one of the sheets is corrupted. The fix for this is the copy the contents of the sheet to a new sheet (rather than copying the sheet itself). 75 sheets complicated figuring out which one is corrupted (if that is the problem)... maybe copy half the sheets to a new workbook, use it for a few days (or however long it took the problem to come up before), then if everything is OK copy half the remaining sheets, use a few days, until the problem appears and you can narrow it down to a specific group of sheets, then repeat the narrow-down process until you figure out which one is the problem?

Well, the problem happens at any place, isn't this a sign that it is not one or another sheet that is corrupted?

I amin the process of copying the workbook into two seprate books, each contaning some of the sheets of the original one.

EVERY TIME i try to copy the dat from the prvious sheet, I get the message "Vector T too long" as sopom as I enter a "=" sign.

The system craches and I have to recover the whole thing again.

I am, after tree hours of works, at sheet 14 out of 75, and i dpouibtr the resulting sheet will function.

Please help.

PS/ somebody chaged the status of the message to "soved", allas, it is not!

No, I only move the sheets so do not copy.

Yes. First I select the last row and copy it to next row. The first colom is the date, and I try to copy ot from prvious sheet. So, I go to the first field of the last row, and typa a "=" in it. The I select the previous sheet and this is when the systems crashes.

And then OpenOffice crashes?

First, I do not know why the title says "Solved"? The issue is not solved.

Now, with another spreadsheet, I experience the same problem: when I type "=" in a fiels, and the I try to go to another tab, I get then message "Vector T too long".

Because it now happens with another spreadsheet, I suspect it is not my spreadsheet that is corrupted but an error in the program.

Can anybody help?

As an alternative, I get the message "Bad Allocation" folowed by a crash.

The problem is still there. Can somebody please help me?

The problem seems specific to your file and/or to your method of working your problem. It may be that working the file on OO on a different operating system will help (a linux distro?), perhaps because of different memory allocation methods; alternately, working the file on a differently configured Windows (i.e., one using more RAM and/or Windows 7 or Windows XP) may help.

You want me to change my operating system in order to maybe solve a bug in OO?

I made a suggestion of possible paths to a fix. If you are concerned with finishing the work you are engaged in, you may choose to follow some of the paths I suggested. The problem seems specific, as I have suggested, to your file and/or method of working; if it were not, there would be multiple reports of this problem.

If OO doesn't suit your needs, there are other programs that might.

Hi, I searched for the vector T problem to come to this post. I am having exactly the same problems and I'm currently using the same operating system as "jjv". It's possible for me to use windows 7 on another m/c. Does anyone think it could be related to the operating system?

I don't use Calc or Windows very much; I only make one suggestion. Start Windows in Safe Mode (F8 while "Starting Windows" on older Windows, I don't know about W7 and W8.1). See if the problem occurs in that mode. If it doesn't, then you can work in that mode to get the project finished.

I experienced this problem with a workbook of 49 sheets. I tried copying all the tabs to a new workbook but that did not help. I also tried converting to Excel with similar lack of resolution.

I noticed that the OP indicated that the problem occurred when trying to reference the tab before (to the left), which was I was trying to do. When I referenced a tab to the right, I did not experience the fatal error. So, I tried moving the tab to the right of the tab I was working in and BINGO, no problem. I figured that if I had to keep moving the tab I wanted to reference to the right of the tab I was working in, that would be a minor inconvenience, but when I moved the tab back, the problem did not repeat. (Fingers crossed!)
