[Solved] Font Substitution Default settings

Post by gjeseritz »

I work in a corporate setting. As the owner of OpenOffice and it's configuration I need to setup a Font substitution. I can easily do this manually, but need to find the file that holds this setting and can be copied for any new user of OpenOffice3.0. I can see this is something that shows up in the Common.xcu, but in my testing if this file is dropped into the approprioate directory, the setting is not reflected in the program when I navigate to Tools Options, General Fonts...

Where else do I need to change this.

Thanks,
Greg

I was able to find a resolution to my problem. The font setting is located in the Common.xcu file and can be dropped into an install to make it be a global change for all of my users. The trick was in my testing was that I was only closing out of the OO application (writer, impress, calc) and not shutting down the soffice.bin task.. Which appears to not allow the common.xcu file to be reloaded.. All in all it will be a non issue.

Thanks for the follow up! That's indeed something that can be easily missed.
