[Solved] Writer and Excel paste
[Solved] Writer and Excel paste
When in Writer with a big blanc table I try to paste mutiple cells from Excel. Whatever cells I copy from excel is pasted in a solo cell in Writer. Is it possible to alter that response?

I'm thinking you want to use Paste Special (Ctrl+Shift+V) rather than Paste (Ctrl+V)
I've never used tables in Writer, but I do realize that they can be useful at the correct times, so this is an educated guess rather than a firm response.
I also think that you'll want the Text, Numbers, Date & Time, and Formats (but not the Paste All) selections checked in the Paste Special dialog.

Re: Writer and Excel paste
You can paste cells from OO Calc into OO Writer as a new table, but you can only paste into an existing table as text in one table cell.
If you need the Calc cells in different cells of the Writer table, you have to paste first into a new Writer table, then copy/paste from there into the final target.

Re: Writer and Excel paste
The last solution worked for me, paste in new table and then copy from there to the target table.
