[Solved] MS Office Disappear after OpenOffice is Installed

I have MS Office 2010 in my windows computer that running well. However, it was suddenly disappear after I installed open office v. 4.x.x and automatically replace by open office. Does anyone have same experience like mine? Can MS Office be recover again and how?

OpenOffice does not uninstall MS Office. What probably happened is that OpenOffice became the default program for opening your files in MS Office formats so that the icons displayed with the file names changed. You don't say what operating system you are using. If it is Windows 7, click the Start button and in the search box type "file association" with no quotes. Click on the link to "Change the file type associated with a file extension". There you can change which program opens .docx, xlsx and other MS Office file types.

Same as Windows 7 except you right-click the Start button and select Search to open the Search box.
