Thanking you all in advance for patience and help. This is all new to me. I use outlook express and until now have had no problems.
As of yesterday, odt docs look fine when attached, but when sent convert to Windows Media Player icon and cannont be openned by recipient. I did not change any settings. The same with PDFs. They have the correct Icon when attached, but when I check my sent file, they have been sent as a Media file. Any insight would be welcome. Cut and paste is a temporary bypass.
This is SOOO weird.
With appreciation,
Gabrielengle

Re: Email attachment problem
What's the extension when they're displayed as media files?
Do you mean that even in your Sent documents folder in your mail application they appear like that? Usually, it's the recipient who sees that issue.
If you zip them, it should work.

Re: Email attachment problem
Wow, that was fast. When I open from the "sent" folder, it shows the Icon for Windows Media Player, the name of the file- for instance:
Opening page copy- the size (9.97 KB) but no extension. Welcome to the twighlight zone.

OK, I think I got it: [Solved] Files Cannot Be Opened.
Thanks to add '[Solved]' at beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.
Sorry, I haven't been so fast that time.

Solved. ? I think this works for me too. Went back to the OpenOffice files and the extensions were missing, how that happened, no idea. Now if I can figure out how to correct it. I'm working again. Thanks all.

Re: Email attachment problem
I don't know what triggers that, I've never experienced that myself but there are some reports about it here.
Your last post in not so clear for me. You confirm that the problem disappeared, correct?
