Used to use OO 2.4, downloaded ver 3.0. Ver 2.4 was uninstalled and deleted.
Now, I can open documents fine from the 3.0 quickstarter. I can't doubleclick any files to open them however. Windows just tells me they are not a valid Win32 application.
I have set the folder options to associate .ods files with open office, but it doesn't work.
None of the open office related files have icons, either.
But they still will open from the quickstarter, so I don't get this.
I am not a computer literate guy for the most part, so any help would be appreciated! (use small words and speak slowly.......)
Thanks!

Re: Can't open .ods files
Version 3.0 is still a beta and still undergoing changes. It does not automatically associate file names because it is a beta. Re-install 2.4.1to solve your problem. V3.0 is expected to be released in September.

Re: Can't open .ods files
Thanks! Appreciate the layman's terms used. Not sure why the automatic association wouldn't be present in a beta version, if that is how it will work eventually anyway.
Thanks again

It won't associate files as a beta so that you don't lose the association for the currently installed version. Please go back to your initial post Click the Edit Button and put [Solved] in the subject line.
