Creating a new default template should be easier

This is just very complicated in comparison with MS Word. Perhaps the OpenOffice developers can fix this next version?
I split this post off from from [Tutorial] Creating a new default template, since this is more of a discussion topic. Let's keep the other thread purely for information that helps people create a new template.
