Connection to mysql database

Post by renahearn »

:knock:

Hi! I am new! I am trying to connect Oo to my database on my dedicated server at 1and1. I have all the drivers installed as directed by this tutorial https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Connect_MySQL_and_Base.

I just can't get it to connect. I have tried every combination I can find in tutorials. Please tell me exactly what to put in the tcp/ip server spot in the data sources in control panel and what to put in datasource url in the database wizard.

Please help!!

In Base select Edit --> Databases --> Connection Type
Select MySQL (Native) as Database Type
Enter the name of your MySQL scheme in the Database name field
In the Server field enter the domain name or IP address of the MySQL Server
The Port is 3306 by default unless otherwise defined by the system admin.
And of course you need a user name.
