Can't retrieve document saved with AOO

hi there
i am having trouble saving a document that i created when i click on the file link then on save as all my documents are not there for the option to save to. i saved a document yesterday and it was ok so don't know went wrong

when i click on save as i can't see my files that i want to save to it was ok yesterday so don't know what went wrong

Greetings and welcome to the community forum!

The File > Save dialog window may be showing files from a different location. You should be able to switch the location to "My Documents" or whatever location you normally save documents to.

Look for a button or icon labeled "My Documents" and see if that helps.

i managed to find the document page where i can save the document just one more thing from the drop down menu in the save as what is the best option yo save the document as it is i have tried different ones some you need software to open others when saved don't open properly
I saved a document yesterday and it opened just the same way as i saved it so i have forgot how i did it

Your format of choice should be the default (OpenOffice .odt). If that is not immediately offered, select it from the File Type dropdown in /File /Save as. Make sure "automatic file name extension" is checked.
