Our copying machine at church has a usb flash drive input, but the only files it recognizes and can print are image files, like jpeg, tiff, and bmp files. It doesn't recognize any document files, including pdf. Is there a way to convert a document into an image file so that I can print it on the copier?

Thank you for your assistance.

You might give Zamzar a try.
They do a lot (1200+) of different kinds of conversions, but I wasn't able to see what you're looking for in their list of common conversions.

It is unusual that pdf is not supported. Can you tell us the make and model of the printer?

I too am surprised the printer does not accept pdf files.

The trick is to save it to an intermediate format which can be converted to an image.

So, for example, save it to a PDF, and convert the pdf to an image with one of the many PDF to image converters like http://www.convertpdftoimage.com/ (google convert pdf image for more).

Be aware that you should use a lossless format like gif, png, tiff, bmp etc if you have text and want a quality result. If you must use jpg for text, you will find the text very ragged, and lots of compression artefacts unless you save it at a high resolution (150 or 300 dpi), and high Quality Factor (90% or better).

If you just want a small item, zoom to fill your screen, and press alt/PrtScrn (with Windows). This copies the screen image to the clipboard. Edit > Paste into a graphics program (MS Paint, IrfanView etc) and crop to size.
