OO Recovery function is recycling and recycling. What to do?

Welcome beginner. Please answer all of the questions below which may provide information necessary to answer your question.

Which version of OpenOffice.org are you using? I am using OO 2.2.0.
What Operating System (version) are you using? Windows XP
What is your question or comment? For some unknown reason, my Open Office Recovery of Writer documents has gone berserk!! It keeps recycling that Open Office Writer/Web is not recovered yet on the screen with the "Start Recovery" button on the bottom, which when pressed, goes through a process and does the green checkmark recovery a success and then pops up with the whole thing over again. I can't get rid of it!! WHAT TO DO? Is it some sort of virus or whatever???
