Why is there no email application, and will there be one soon?

Because you have plenty of free e-mail software, and OOo is a software to make documents, not to send/receive e-mail. I hope the developers will continue focusing on the current set of applications, but I read that may be they will include an e-mail tool with OOo 3.0, due in September 2008. I hope they will change their mind, though.
