I was reading Patrick Burns' Spreadsheet Addiction where he presents a problem with Excel under Bad graphics in that it will produce a pie chart with a negative value.
I tried to duplicate the result in AOO Calc and found an even more egregious fault. Not only will Calc produce the plot but it converts the -4 in the data series to 4 in the label on the chart! At least the Excel results might make one think there was a problem.
As a sidenote, R correctly gives an error message: Error in pie(bb) : 'x' values must be positive. when I tried it there.
Please see the attached file for my example. Following Patrick's example, I have graphed it in faux-3D to make it look as bad as possible.
Can anyone duplicate this? Or, for that matter, does anyone know if this has been reported as a bug before I try and navigate the bug reporting site?

Hi,
I don't know for AOO, but there is a bug report for LibreOffice:
