[Solved] Printing cuts off- print margins
[Solved] Printing cuts off- print margins
The last few lines of my document won't print. I have tried saving it as .sxs and .odt
Neither will print the full page. How do I check to see if I am within printing margins?

Take a look at the Print Preview.

print preview shows the full document
Re: Printing cuts off- print margins
You didn't mention how closely your printing is to the edge of your paper.
Another thing to consider is the physical limits of printers. If your margin is too close to the edge of the paper, then the printer absolutely will not print it--regardless of what any program says. Different printers can print different distances from the edge.

If someone posts a fix for your question, then please post a quick thank you and then go to your first post, use the edit button to add [Solved] as the first word of the title so other people can rely on the fix as well.

Re: Printing cuts off- print margins
I am printing close to the edge, but the part that is getting cut off isn't on the edge of the paper.
The text document is justified in the top left of the page. The bottom, where there is 2-3 inches of space left, is getting cut.

Re: Printing cuts off- print margins
Double-check your page format: Format > Page > Page > Paper Format > Format
Does the paper size there match what you have in your printer?

Re: Printing cuts off- print margins
I'm not having much luck.
How do I access "file"? It's not on my toolbar.
I also do not have an option for print set up.
Any ideas?
I checked the page format and could choose from 1,2,3 or A,B,C etc. But I don't think that's the answer.

Alright- I'm not using my head. Found the File and Page options but still don't know how to check to make sure the entire word document is within the printing margins.
It's still true that page preview shows the whole thing. It cuts off the bottom inch when printing.

Re: Printing cuts off- print margins
Close, but not quite. You have the right window (I think), but you're looking at the wrong settings. See if this helps; here's the part you want:
That is where you can select the paper size. In this case, I've chosen Letter size, and under that, I can see that the width is 8.5 inches, and the height is 11 inches. That matches the paper that I have loaded in the printer, so what I see in the page preview is what I get on the paper.

Re: Printing cuts off- print margins SOLVED
That was it! When I changed the width and height of the "paper" it set itself to "user".
I had to go and make larger margins to shrink the word document down to the size I wanted.
Man. That was annoying. Thanks for the solution.
