Trouble using MS Office .doc or .docx files

Post by yravnldy »

I have multiple documents that I have saved that were created in MS Office.

I am attempting to edit some labels that I previously created that have a picture on each label. When the file opens, only the first label has the picture and I can't figure out how to get it correct.

Running Windows Vista Service Pack 2. Installed Open Office 4 last week.

Thanks,

Pat

Is it possible to post a sample document here? I think it would be hard to do much without a sample document. You can upload a small sample file (> 128) here, see at bottom of page, or if it is larger you can post it at a file hosting site such as MediaFire or Dropbox

The conversion from MS to AOO is not always perfect since the translators were reverse engineered and hiccups happen.

P.S. Welcome to the forum.

You may also find AbiWord or LibreOffice give better support for MS Writer files.

If you must consistently use MS Office files, particularly if professionally, you should seriously consider changing to MS Office.

I've looked at the bottom of the page. I don't see a spot to upload the document or I would gladly do that for you. I don't use either of the other services you mentioned. This is really strange. I have 2 specifically that I am trying to use now and they were both saved with my contact information on them. One comes up with only the pictures on each label and no contact info. The other comes up with the picture only on the first label & contact info on all of them. I saw that OpenOffice had a template download for labels. Maybe I'll just try to recreate them on that template. Thanks for your quick responses. You help is appreciated.

Click on "Post reply", and then
You can find "Upload attachment" tab under buttons "Save draft", Preview", "Submit".
