Open Office General Problem after upgrade

I am not sure if the problem I have is a Windows XP or Open Office problem.

Font Colour does not display when changed in main screen of swriter and scalc or in Print Preview.

However it does print the font colour in the correct colour, either to PDF or a colour printer.

Background and Highlighting colour displays fine, just the Font Colour is not viewable.

I have uninstalled OOo, removed all related entries in the registry and re-installed OOo 2.3.1

The same problem persists in all modules of OOo. It is not a system problem as Lotus Smarsuite works fine.

This is quite frustrating as negative values in scalc do not show in red although it is setup to.

Anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions to correct the problem is most welcome.

Turn off the option Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Accessibility > Use automatic font color for screen display.
