Hi All
I have just installed OpenOffice. It is essential that I am able to use a reference amanger software called EndNote alongside whichever word porcessing software I use. Does anyone know how to set up Open Office Writer so that it is tied in with EndNote and works in the same way as Word does?

BTW, I am not a very computer-literate person, so no jargon ... I need an explanation in simple words!! Sorry!

Brian

Would you ever ask Microsoft to support a certain 3rd party software? It works exactly the other way round: The developers of such tools integrate their software into Microsoft Word. They may be able to do the same with OpenOffice.org. It's a question of market share and open standards. Utilizing the open document standards of this office, they could be able to generate Writer documents out of thin air without the need to have any office suite installed. Sadly, there is no such code of practise now. 99% of office documents are bound to proprietary standards, beeing the fundament of the old software industrie's economic wealth and millions of user's wasted time and money.

In the endnote user forum, Product suggestions subforum, there is a suggestion to support linux and OOo. That may be a better place to ask (just so they know there are more than two users looking for that).

Go to the endnote website and select the User forum link at the bottom of the quick links list.
