Trouble saving to other formats

Welcome beginner. Please answer all of the questions below which may provide information necessary to answer your question.

Which version of OpenOffice.org are you using? 2.0
What Operating System (version) are you using? XP
What is your question or comment? Just recently I have been unable to save to Word or Excel, or for that matter, I guess any other format, like PDF. Has anything changed on OO? Or, more likely, what am I doing wrong?

Can you upgrade to 2.4? The 2.0 version is really deprecated now.

I will try to upgrade, thanks. didn't see 2.4 as an option, but will be more thorough in my search.

That looks more like a problem with the user profile rather than with the software. Try renaming your profile folder (after exiting all OO processes including the quick starter). The path on XP is c:\documents and settings\username\Application Data\ OpenOffice.org2
