Every time I create and save a document in OO Writer, Windows 8 resaves it in Wordpad. I mean, when I open my document folder all documents are in Wordpad.
I want to keep all my documents in OO, how do I stop Windows from behaving like that? It's really pain in the bum, so urgent help would be appreciated.

Set your File Associations. See
http://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/vi ... 74&t=12918 except select OpenOffice components instead of MS Office components.

Documents aren't saved in Wordpad or in OOo. You need to change the default program for opening the documents. Right-click a document and select Properties. On the General tab, it should say Opens With: Wordpad. Click the Change button and select OpenOffice.org instead of Wordpad.

What does "saved in wordpad" mean? Did you use WordPad to save the document? WordPad is a basic word processing program that can save files in several different formats. WordPad is not a file format.

Select the Text file type on the Save As dialog when you save the file.

What is the format of the original file? How did you split it into 11 files? The user is responsible for saving files in the correct format, but from your statement, I have no way of knowing how the 11 files were saved or how they were opened.
