Apache OpenOffice Community Forum

I have a rather dumb question but want to be sure of the answer. I absolutely love OpenOffice and want to continue to use it. Recently it has become necessary to travel often and use of my laptop has become a burden. The new mini iPad seems like a convenient choice but being a Apple product my assumption is that it won't accept the OpenOffice program. Am I correct? If this eliminates the Apple product are there other similar products someone might suggest? Thanks
