Hello community,

I just installed Libreoffice 4.0 RC3 and I am missing the template organizer. It should be file--> templates--> organize...

Does anybody know, where it did go, or should I file a report?

I think that when you like to report pre-release issues of LibreOffice you go to http://en.libreofficeforum.org/ or check the pre-release download page.

Thank you for the link, I was not aware there is a dedicated libreoffice forum and I do prefer fori to mailing lists. (even though I still prefer staying here as long as this remains a "User community support forum for Apache OpenOffice, LibreOffice and all the OpenOffice.org derivatives")
I did check the pre-release page though, as well as the available (F1) documentation and a popular search engine.
I' do not want to report anything yet, since it might well be that the functionality is just hidden somewhere else now. As the documentation of libreoffice usually is finished quite a while after the publication of the release and since the help files still point to 3.6, I just wanted to know if any other user (/tester) has stumbled upon this change with more success than I did.

Template wizard is changing. Devs are still working on.
You can access with File > New > Template like previous version or from StartCenter (New access).

Thank you, found that. It just seems there is no more the possibility to copy a style from one document to another without using templates. This would be quite frustrating if true.

Even when holding the Ctrl key when dragging a style from one pane to the other?

Well, I cant see any styles in the new wizard...
Would be nice to give me a hint about where they are before marking this as solved. I do know how the old wizard worked (Ctrl + drag to copy, drag to move), but I see only templates, no styles, no option to use files rather than templates)

Indeed, I've tagged solved since your initial question has been solved and thought at first that the second would be quickly solved too.

I've not installed LO 4 but don't you see a similar dialog where you can change the list with a drop-down list below each pane?

No, the wizard has been completely redesigned. It looks more colorful now...but seems quite useless for actually managing styles.

Hope, the functionality gets back quick enough (though RC3 probably means I will have to wait for a while)

I think Hagar was showing templates for Writer.

I think the wizard is the same for all types of files. I need them for calc at the moment, but for writer in most cases (I just was to lazy to upload an own screenshot, so I used the one from the LibreOffcice site.)

Just wanted to post a workaround, for managing styles in LibreOffice 4.0 (identical to 4.0.3 as expected)

Open the document you want to copy styles into.
In the Styles and Formatting window, click on the arrow next to the New Style from Selection icon, and then click on Load Styles
Select the categories of styles to be copied. Select Overwrite if you want the styles being copied to replace any styles of the same names in the document you are copying them into.
On the Load Styles dialog click the From File button to open a window from which you can select the required document.

Documentation was updated a week ago or so.
