Hi!
I can't import an mdb file into OO 2.4 Base (ubuntu hardy). I can do it
under windows, using the "connect to an existing database",
but don't figure out how to do it in Linux. I've tried
with ODBC and JDBC, I suspect I have some
driver missing, but I'm pretty lost.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Agus

No stable ODBC driver for mdb file under linux, in consequence OOo not support mdb file under linux, now. (earlier was a test driver, but it fails very often)

I can't import a very simple Access Data Base into OO Base at all in Windows XP Pro SP2. All that shows up is gibberish.
I just downloaded OO this evening and installed it.
Any ideas?

You can not open mdb or other MSA files, only connect to them to retrieve tables, forms, reports not usable. details in OOo wiki page.

But gmdb2 (http://mdbtools.sourceforge.net/) is able to open itr4zoli wrote:No stable ODBC driver for mdb file under linux, in consequence OOo not support mdb file under linux, now. (earlier was a test driver, but it fails very often)
and save the tables as csv, why not Base?
Anyway, that's the way I found to get the mdb diles into linux.

This was an unfinished attempt to build an usable ODBC driver, which gave false results, unstable, and scrappy, for this reason not supported by OOo.
