I'm a newbie and would appreciate your advice. The form I use prints the fields ok except when using multi-line when the text disappears even though its ok on screen. If a grey background formats the field the text reappears on the printed output as white characters. I have changed font setting but no difference to the printed output. If I use multi-line with formating then it prints ok.
Second problem relates to using a form for entering a new record. when I press the new record button the data from the previous record appears on the new data entry screen if the field is multi-line with formating, instead of being a clear field.
thanks in advance for any help.

Missing Text on printed forms
Re: Missing Text on printed forms
What happens if you export Form as PDF, on this the same happens?
Form created with Form wizard or in design view?
What new records button? On a Form Navigation Toolbar?

Re: Missing Text on printed forms
Exporting to PDF similar to printing, and if difference between, in most cases printer driver problem.
Print preview showing text?
If your database not consist any confidential informations, and not bigger than 128kb, you can attach to your post.
I will try it on my 2.4, to find a cause.

Re: Missing Text on printed forms
The problem of printing white text was due to the Tools>Options>Print>Convert Colours to Greyscale box being ticked, though I am puzzled why it only happens on the forms" multi-line text" fields and not on single line field property settings (right click>select control>text type>3 options. The" multi-line format" option was only used as an attempt to get around the white text problem on the basic multi-line setting. That it does not save to the table record is a puzzle though --perhaps it was only meant for text box only additions to forms? Anyhow the toolbar that pops up when editing this last kind has all the formatting controls greyed out no matter if its a record field or is just a simple text box so its not clear what is purpose should be. I checked this on a Windows Vista pc with Lexmark and HP printers and on Ubunto pc with another HP printer and both setups show the same white text symptoms as described above. At least can now continue with planned work. Thanks for your suggestions.
