Have been using version 3.3 with Oracle Report Builder on Windows XP. New computer running Windows 7 Home 64 bit. Dowloaded latest version 3.4.0
Reports in database will not run. Message is This report requires the extension Oracle Report Builder - error states SQL Status S1000
When I use the Extension Manager to enable the builder 1.2.1 it states Could not create Java implementation loader.
I checked tools-options-java and the box is ticked for using a Java runtime environment and there is a check mark against Sun Microsystems 1.6.0_32.
I have checked Control Panel-Java-environment settings and it is enabled for User and System.
What else can I do to enable the Oracle Report Builder?

Only 32 bit Java can add components to this 32 bit software.

Thanks for reply. I do not know enough about computer technology to understand 32 and 64 bit but, I assumed Java 1.6.0_32 is 32 bit . I will look at Java website

The 32 in the Java version is a revision number, not an indication of 32/64 bit. Look carefully at the Java website - you should be able to find 32 bit and 64 bit versions. OpenOffice is not happy with v1.7_xx; best with 1.6_xx; in both cases, because OO is 32 bit, the Java must be 32 bit to interface correctly.

Thanks for help. I downloaded Version 7 32 bit as I was already running Version 6 32 bit. Selected it to use. Extension Manager then allowed the report builder to be enabled. Open Office then crashed a couple of times so I went back and selected Version 6. Report builder stayed enabled and all reports now working. I do not know why this worked, but it did.

There does not seem to be any 32/64 bit distinction on the equivalent English page either, for Windows.

You may need a 32-bit browser with a 64-bit operating system to invoke/enable the distinctions...
