increase slide # to be printed in handouts

I am using open office 2.0.4 in a SUSE 10.2 environment, and a HP laserjet T160.

my question: is there a way to increase the number of slides printed on a handout. the maximum I get is 6, but I would like to fit 8 or even more on one page.

I don't think this is possible directly from Impress. However, your printer may support the possibility of printing several pages on one page. Or use a tool like http://www.cutepdf.com/ (not sure it works with Linux) which allows up to 16 pages per page. You can then print the pdf document as it is.
